Cilla's 11th studio album of popular seventies love songs is
released worldwide today (September 7th, 2009) for the first time on digital-download by K-tel
(UK).
This
classic album from 1980, aka 'Especially For You', was
originally produced at EMI's Abbey Road studios by Bruce Welch.
It was also notably the first recording project to be undertaken by
Cilla after the completion of her 15-year contract with the EMI
group. For
the 2009 edition K-tel have repackaged the album as 'The
Essential Love Songs' and added two rare bonus tracks
which are 'A Fool On The Hill' and the cult 1980s TV theme
classic 'Surprise, Surprise' (all
recordings have been digitally re-mastered). A
digital booklet which contains the original 1980 cover artwork, detailed
track information and an interview with Cilla is
available from iTunes with purchases of the entire album re-issue.
